Rooted and Reaching is a youth leadership program by Culture Encounters that empowers young people to explore their cultural identities while developing the confidence and skills to lead in their communities. Through dialogue, mentorship, storytelling, and community engagement, participants reflect on their lived experiences and learn how culture shapes perspectives, relationships, and leadership.

Youth leaders in the program are encouraged to share their voices in meaningful ways by contributing to community conversations, cultural events, and collaborative initiatives. Rooted and Reaching helps students stay grounded in their heritage while reaching outward to build understanding, connection, and positive change in the broader community.
